Grade A natural Guatemalan jadeite Petite Shan Shui pendant with a sterling silver bail. It features an icy jadeite that has dark teal color. Some parts of the piece have darker color shade and the rest. Depending on lighting, this may appear more green or blue in person. The jadeite has icy highly translucent clarity, fine and smooth texture, and excellent luster. The material contains some natural clear or colorless marbling lines which are also called "water" lines". Please know these are not stone lines or cracks. The jadeite is cut into an oval shape. It is carved with a landscape of trees, mountains, and temples on the front, and flat and polished on the back. This type of carving is called Shan (meaning "mountains") Shui (meaning "waters"). It bears wishes for one's professional and personal growth. Shan Shui is one of the most popular designs in jadeite carving and jewelry. This is not a large pendant.
