Natural grade A stunning icy jadeite carved pendant on 999 sterling silver necklace. It features a beautiful near crescent-shaped jadeite carved into a Ruyi with interlocking rings on both sides. Ruyi is a Chinese mythological wish granting blessing amulet. This is nice sized pendant with excellent thickness. Please refer to photos for size and measurements. The carving is all done by hand with intricate details and exquisit design. The rings on the sides are carved entirely interlocking which requires experienced carvers, is very time consuming and generates a lot of waste. The jadeite is old mine material. It has beautiful soft pastel green color and the color fades gradually from one side to the other. It has icy highly translucent clarity, incredibly fine, pure and smooth texture that looks like jelly, and outstanding luster. It is so clear and pure that it appears to glow on the edges of the piece. It is attached to a beautiful 999 purity sterling silver specialty chain necklace. The chain is well made, sturdy and weighty. It is about 2.5 mm in width. It is about 21" in length and can be extended to about 22.75" with the extension chain. Sterling silver with 999 purity has more silver content than 925 sterling silver and, therefore, has more weight to it. This entire necklace weighs about 15 grams. The necklace has a "W" hook closure. Even though this is a sturdy and solid piece, silver is malleable and can become brittle if bent repeatedly. Please wear with care.
