Grade A natural Jadeite carved Pixiu pendant on an adjustable rope necklace. Pixiu is an ancient Chinese mythological creature that feeds on gold and jewels and keeps all in. Pixiu is believed to bring protection to its wearer in his/her wealth and overall well-being, and to ward off negative energy. This is a nice sized jadeite pendant with excellent thickness. Please refer to photos for measurements. This is natural Wuji material. Wuji refers to black marbling found in natural jadeite. It is NOT mineral inclusion. It is often compared to Chinese traditional black and white watercolor paintings for its unique picturesque patterns. It is also believed to possess protective energy. The material has icy translucent clarity, very pure and smooth texture and excellent luster. The Pixiu looks mostly black/gray in color and also has subtle light purple undertone. Despite the dark color and thickness of the jadeite, light can travel through it completely. There are some crystal structures and marbling lines visible when light shines through the material. This is all natural with ZERO treatment! This piece is hand cut, carved with amazing details. It is tied on a purple colored rope necklace ready to wear and it is adjustable up to 27" in length.
