Natural grade A Jadeite carved Ping An Kou pendant with a rope necklace. Ping An Kou is a donut shaped blessing amulet. "Ping An" in Chinese means "peace and safety" while "Kou" means "button". In many cultures, it symbolizes safety and good luck, typically used for protection and warding off negative energy. This is a substantial piece, large, thick and weighty. The necklace weighs about 44 grams including the rope! The jadeite is cut from the center material of a bangle, also called "bangle heart". It is carved with Peony flower, butterfly and coins. This design symbolizes wealth and happiness. The carving is identical on both sides. The jadeite material appears to be white but does have subtle light green undertone. It is more noticeable when it is against something white such as a piece of paper. The jadeite is 100% natural and untreated. The material has icy translucent clarity, super smooth and fine texture and excellent luster.
