Natural grade A Jadeite Pixiu pendant on an adjustable rope necklace. This is a substantial and nicely carved piece! It measures approximately 34.4x21.9x13.9mm (13.9mm being the thickness). The jadeite is carved into a Pixiu (貔貅). Pixiu is an ancient Chinese mythological creature that feeds on gold and jewels and keeps all in. Pixiu is believed to bring protection to its wearer in his/her wealth and overall well-being, and to ward off negative energy. This piece of Jadeite is very fine, pure and smooth material that has no crystal texture visible. It appears white but with pale green undertone and beautiful green marbling throughout Pixiu's body. The color and the luster on this piece are beautiful! It looks as if it has been dipped in oil (起胶). Even though it is thick, it has icy translucent clarity and light can travel through it completely and easily. It is all natural with ZERO treatment! The Pixiu also carries a Ruyi on his back which is a mythological wish-granting amulet. This piece is hand cut, carved with amazing design and intricate details. It is hard to find beautiful carving like this on Pixiu. It is tied on a rope necklace ready to wear and it is adjustable up to 25" in length. The entire pendant weighs about 24 grams.
