Certified grade A natural Jadeite pendant on adjustable sterling silver necklace. The pendant is made from a piece of natural Guatemalan jadeite. It has natural teal blue color, icy highly translucent clarity, incredibly fine, pure and smooth texture that looks like jelly and exceptional luster. The material is so pure and clear that it appears to glow and so lustrous that it looks as if it has been dipped in oil. The jadeite is carved into a Pixiu (貔貅). Pixiu is an ancient Chinese mythological creature that feeds on gold and jewels and keeps all in. Pixiu is believed to bring protection and wealth to its wearer and ward off negative energy. The carving of this piece is fantastic. Not only is the Pixiu carved with stunning design and intricate details (check out the carving of the sharp teeth and claws), it is also carved with an interlocking ring bail attached to the top of the Pixiu’s head and with a free standing ball (resembling a pearl) inside the Pixiu’s mouth. This type of carving requires master level skills and is extremely time consuming. This is truly a master piece. The jadeite is 100% natural and untreated. It weighs 4.8 grams by itself and comes with a certificate of authenticity. The pendant comes with a very nice sterling silver adjustable chain. It is fully adjustable up to 18”.
