Grade A natural jadeite pendant with a sterling silver bail. The pendant features a natural dark Wuji jadeite that has icy highly translucent clarity, super pure, fine and even texture and outstanding luster. The jadeite is so pure and lustrous that it looks gelatinous and as if it had been dipped in oil. Wuji material is a specific black and/or dark gray marbling (乌鸡). Unlike mineral inclusions, Wuji marbling is desirable and believed to possess protection energy to its wearer. Wuji’s naturally free formed patterns are often compared to Chinese black and white watercolor landscape paintings. This is a thick cut piece. Please refer to photos for size and measurements. It is cut into a near triangle shape with flat black. On the top of the pendant, it is carved with a beautiful lotus flower. The carving is all done by hand with stunning design and details.
