The pendant is made of a unique bicolored natural jadeite. The outer layer or the rind of the jadeite has brown color underneath which it turns into dark dusty green with very subtle teal undertone. Depending on lighting, the color may appear more blue or green in person. Just a super cool and unique way to preserve the rind of the jadeite when it has just as icy quality as the jadeite. Typically, the rind of the jadeite is rough, dull and opaque but this piece's rind is completely icy translucent just like the inner layer, the entire piece has very fine, smooth and pure texture and exceptional luster. The carving artisan artfully reserved the rind and carved the piece in a square pillar with Shan Shui engraved. Shan Shui, in Chinese, means \"Mountains\" and \"Waters\". Shan Shui pendant typically has a landscape scenery carved\/engraved on a piece of jadeite. It bears well wishes for one's personal and professional growth. The carving is done by hand with detailed designs. This is a nice sized piece with wonderful thickness. Please refer to photos for actual measurements. Above the pendant, there is a natural grade A brown\/yellow jadeite drum bead as accent to echo the color of the rind. All jadeite used are 100% natural and untreated. The pendant comes with a beige colored rope necklace that is fully adjustable up to 26\". The necklace weighs about 28 grams entirely.
